Why the Verizon Nexus 5 is not available, and how a petition will change that

The Nexus 5 has been one of the most popular choices for a low cost high-end smartphone. However, the Nexus 5 is not available through Verizon and consumers have started a petition to have it available for purchase. Despite the high demand for the Nexus 5 through Verizon, they have not received any news, any company who sees a demand and potential profitable service would normally supply the service, but Verizon seems to be holding back. This begs to ask the question, is it out of Verizon’s hands or does Verizon choose not to provide the Nexus 5. The most common reason for a phone not being available is due to the fact that a deal could not be made between two companies. Large companies tend not to send out public messages about business deals until they are completed, and even if they did so, it may be vague or would provide little to no information. With the release of the Nexus 6 coming up, Verizon could see an increase in sales and customers if they decide to make the Nexus smartphones available for their users. Not only are their current customers upset, but they are losing potential customers to their competition. Several other carriers have the Nexus Smartphones available, and are currently doing quite well. A petition has been started for Verizon to make the Nexus 5 available for purchase, as of now there has been no official announcement about whether they will be making it available or not. However, there have been rumours that Verizon could possible make it available when the Nexus 6 is released sometime this year, and they could even start fresh with the Nexus 6 instead of making a deal with a year old phone.
