Cagliari have announced through Twitter that the southern corner of the Sant’Elia stadium will be reopened for the home match against AC Milan.
The opening will increase the number of seats by 4000 and will hopefully reach the target of an attendance of 16,000 Rossoblu fans.
The stadium was deemed satisfactory as well as practical by the Provincial Supervision Committee following a long-term closure of the area.
The saga of the club’s home matches has been an ongoing cause for concern for and it saw the squad play it’s home matches for the 2012/13 Serie A season at the Stadio Comunale Is Arenas, outside the team’s home city.
However with the appointment of club president, Tommaso Giulini, the Rossoblu have reached a deal with the local council to expand the Sant’Elia stadium for the 2014/15 season.
