This summer, after season upon season of false hope and ultimate failure, Chelsea gave up on Spanish striker Fernando Torres.
They let the £50 million striker join AC Milan on a two-year loan deal, admitting he was unlikely to play for the club again.
With the arrival of Diego Costa Torres had no chance of regular first-team football and his departure was simply god business.
However AC Milan were more than happy to welcome him as a replacement for the Liverpool bound Mario Balotelli.
But his time in Milan is starting to look fairly similar to that in Chelsea.
After a promising star, including a headed goal against Empoli, his performances tailed off recently - leaving some to wonder if he will be able to regain his Liverpool or Atletico Madrid form with the Rossoneri.
On the whole fans and the like are sticking by the striker, as that is the Milan way - as a former San Siro star has admitted.
Alberto Gilardino joined Milan for €25 million from Parma back in 2005, when Milan has that sort of money to throw around.
He struggled at first to win over the fans at Milan, who are notoriously difficult to please. But in the end he did and he has no doubt they will remain patient with the on loan Chelsea man - who will soon come good.
Gilardino, who now plays for Chinese side Guangzhou Evergrande told the Milan Channel:
"As I had the good fortune to be in a company that knows how to wait for the players, even when things are not going well. I'm sure they will for Torres, who is a player of great quality, who I've always liked."
Torres will hope to start proving Gilardino right and Chelsea wrong in the near future.
Can Torres come good at Milan?
