AC Milan determined to sign Chelsea linked Brazilian

AC Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani is plotting to make Cruzeiro's Lucas Silva a New Year gift to boss Pippo Inzaghi.

Brazilian rising star Lucas Silva is on Jose Mourinho's shopping list, but AC Milan have strong links in South America and could swoop in January.
Chelsea hardly seem like they need reinforcements but Mourinho isn't one to rest on his laurels and reportedly wants to snap up Silva before someone else does.
The 21-year-old is a defensive midfielder by nature but has nonetheless won comparisons to Kaka, who spent seven years in two spells at Milan.
The latest reports from Italian newspaper Tuttosport claim that Milan transfer guru Adriano Galliani is going in search of Silva as a reward for coach Pippo Inzaghi, who has turned things around after a grim 2013-14 campaign.
Real Madrid are also said to be interested in Silva, but Milan may step in with a bid of around £5 million in January and hope that it doesn't trigger a bidding war.
If there is a tug-of-war with Chelsea and Real Madrid, it seems unlikely that Milan will have the financial resources to win it.
